ABOUT THE CHEF

Guido Saccone

Guido Saccone was born in Melfi, Italy. His family moved to Caserta, Italy, outside of Napoli, when he was 6 years old. His brother Enzo opened a restaurant in Caserta and Guido started working there part-time at the age of 15. This is where Guido learned about pizza making and Italian cooking in general.

Having grown up in a very traditional southern Italian family, Guido knew about the importance of food and fresh ingredients at a very young age. His upbringing and skills learned training under his brother have taken him to different parts of Italy, working specifically as a pizzaiolo and eventually bringing him to Phoenix. In 2005 the Cibo adventure began with traditional Neapolitan style pizzas and eventually expanding the menus to fresh pasta. In 2007 Guido became co-owner of Cibo. Guido is now 43 years old and proud to be still working at Cibo Pizzeria.
